Thank you for choosing Independence Blue Cross (Independence)! We hope that you will find that your health insurance coverage is a smart investment.
But there is one last step. In order to officially complete your enrollment, you have to make your first payment. You have selected the Bill Me option which means that you will receive an invoice from Independence for your monthly premium. Your premium payment must be made by your coverage effective date. For example, the premium payment for coverage that starts in January must be made by January 1. Your identification card(s) will be issued when we receive your first payment.
Once you receive your invoice, there are several ways you can make your payment:
Pay on-line. You are able to register for www.ibxpress.com, our secure member portal, 15 days prior to your effective date. On www.ibxpress.com, you can review your benefits and coverage, pay your bill, and view claims information. To register for e-Bill you will need your member ID number and bill account number which can be found on your invoice.
Pay over the phone. Call 1–888–879–4891 and select option 1 to authorize a one-time electronic payment from your bank account. There is no charge for this service. You will need your member ID number and bank account information handy when you call. If you have questions or need assistance, representatives are available Monday – Friday 8 a.m.to 6 p.m.
Mail your payment. Mail a check or money order to the address noted on your invoice and made payable to the company indicated. Be sure to write your new billing account number on your check and include your payment coupon with your payment.
Pay with MoneyGram. MoneyGram* payments can be made at CVS/pharmacy, Walmart, and many other locations. To make a payment, bring cash, the MoneyGram fee, and your account number. You will also need to provide a code to ensure that the payment is applied correctly: please use Receive Code 13438. To find a location near you, visit moneygram.com/locations or call 1-800-926-9400.
Pay in person. Visit Independence Live, our customer experience center, at 1919 Market Street, 2nd Floor, Philadelphia, PA Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. You may pay by check or money order.
The deadline is very important. If your first monthly payment is not received and processed by the due date, your coverage will be cancelled back to your original effective date.
